Orange County Internal Audit Department Releases Phase 2 of the Forensic Audit of County Contracts Related to Andrew Do

(Santa Ana, CA) – On Wednesday, August 12, the County’s independent contracted auditor, Weaver and Tidwell, completed Phase 2 of the forensic audit of County contracts, especially including those involving
disgraced former Supervisor Andrew Do.

Phase 2 of the investigation inspected over 680 contracts, totaling in $1.7 billion. In that review, five contracts were flagged for scrutiny. Supervisor Wagner is grateful for the work that was put into Phase 2 of the independent external forensic audit.

“Weaver and Tidwell’s investigations have uncovered further questionable details about contracts that
Supervisor Do was involved in during his time on the Board,” said Supervisor Wagner. “I appreciate the work
of Weaver and Tidwell, and our Internal Audit Office, in uncovering potential additional abuses of taxpayers’
dollars in our county government. The Board and I want to ensure that we take all precautions to safeguard our county from this ever happening again. I look forward to continuing with Phase 3 of the forensic audit, ensuring that we have caught every malfeasance by Supervisor Do and any of his affiliates.”
