Chairman Don Wagner and Orange County Board of Supervisors Approve $500,000 Grant to Working Wardrobes for the Rebuilding Careers Program
(Santa Ana, CA) –The Orange County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the award by Chairman Don Wagner of $500,000 to Working Wardrobes for their Rebuilding Careers program.
Working Wardrobes, a respected nonprofit organization established in 1990, has been a beacon of hope for over 125,000 Orange County jobseekers, offering vital assistance in navigating the challenges on the path to employment. Its approach aims to create a future where second chances are attainable, regardless of one's circumstances at the outset. Its focus on aiding low-income, unemployed, and underemployed individuals aligns with the county's goal to foster economic stability and combat issues related to poverty and homelessness.
"This grant represents an investment in our community's future, where opportunities for personal growth and success are not determined by circumstance but by the determination to overcome challenges," stated Chairman Wagner. “The Rebuilding Careers program by Working Wardrobes highlights its dedication to equipping individuals with the tools and resources necessary for stable employment. This program not only addresses the immediate need for job placement but also provides ongoing support to ensure individuals can maintain their positions and achieve long-term success.”
“At Working Wardrobes, we prioritize treating each client we serve with dignity, focusing on their humanity above all. We strongly believe in universal access to the mental, emotional, and financial benefits of gainful employment, irrespective of the challenges faced by the over 5,000 job seekers we reach annually,” said Bonni Pomush, Working Wardrobes CEO. “Our ability to serve is fueled by the dedicated support of community officials, volunteers, companies, nonprofits and specialized agencies, as well as vital grants, donations, and sponsorships. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Chairman Wagner and the Orange County Board of Supervisors for this grant—poised to not only transform the lives of those overcoming employment barriers but also positively impacting their families, neighbors and the broader community.”
This $500,000 grant represents Chairman Wagner’s support for organizations like Working Wardrobes, which play a pivotal role in uplifting the community and creating pathways to prosperity for all residents.
