Chairman Don Wagner and Orange County Board of Supervisors Approve Donation of Four Patrol Dogs to Orange County Sheriff’s Department

(Santa Ana, CA) – Chairman Don Wagner and the Orange County Board of Supervisors unanimously voted to approve a donation of four patrol dogs to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department from the Orange County Sheriff’s Advisory Council (OCSAC).

These patrol dogs are used to track and  apprehend suspects and to identify physical evidence in various environments. One of the canines is specially trained in firearms detection. All of the dogs are trained in tracking/trailing, obedience, and practical agility under dangerous, high stress, and demanding situations with multiple distractions.

“I’m delighted to welcome Solo, Axl, Tito, and Badger to our Sheriff’s Department force,” said Chairman Wagner. “Dogs of this caliber are eagerly sought by the Department. They are among the most disciplined and capable K-9 units that our law enforcement agencies could ask for. This generous donation by OCSAC of highly trained dogs equips the Orange County Sheriff’s Department to respond to any challenges and to better protect the welfare of our law enforcement officers and the residents they serve.”

These highly trained patrol dogs will play a crucial role in enhancing public safety and supporting our law enforcement officers in their daily duties. Chairman Wagner and the Board of Supervisors are proud to support the Orange County Sheriff's Department in their mission to protect and serve our community.
