Chairman Don Wagner Announces Second Annual Orange County Hall of Fame Nominees
(Santa Ana, CA) – Chairman Don Wagner, Vice Chairman Doug Chaffee, and the Orange County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the Orange County Hall of Fame’s Second Annual Class.
“I’m proud to announce the Second Annual Class of the Orange County Hall of Fame,” said Chairman Wagner. “After numerous meetings and nominations from each of our supervisors, we have selected ten honorees from a wide range of backgrounds that epitomize Orange County’s richness in character and is a reflection of its vibrant spirit. Their achievements serve as an inspiration to us all, showcasing the very best of what Orange County has to offer.”
With the Second Annual Orange County Hall of Fame, Orange County continues its recognition of outstanding individuals who have contributed to Orange County's rich cultural, societal, and professional landscape.
Ten honorees are selected for induction into the Hall of Fame every year. The distinguished honorees in the second annual class this year include a former president, a renowned Hollywood actress, legendary entrepreneurs, philanthropists, civic leaders, and industry leaders.
These honorees, their families, and special guests will be invited to an induction and unveiling ceremony in December. Details for the induction ceremony will be announced in the coming weeks.
Orange County Hall of Fame Second Annual Class:
- Nick Berardino: Distinguished U.S. Marine Corps veteran and Chairman of the Veterans group, VALOR (Civics)
- Leo Fender: Renowned designer of iconic Fender Telecaster and Stratocaster guitars (Music, Arts, & Entertainment)
- Carl Karcher: Founder of Carl's Jr. (Business)
- Wing Lam & the Lee Family: Co-founders of Wahoo's Fish Tacos (Business)
- Sylvia Mendez: Central figure in the landmark Mendez v. Westminster Supreme Court case (Civics)
- Richard Nixon: 37th President of the United States (Civics)
- Ed Paul: Veterans Advocate and Community Leader (Civics)
- Michelle Pfeiffer: Renowned Hollywood Actress known for roles in films such as "Scarface," "Batman Returns," and "Dangerous Liaisons" (Music, Arts, & Entertainment)
- William Steiner: Former County Supervisor and founder of Good Samaritan Boy’s Center and Orangewood Children’s Home (Philanthropy)
- Charlie Zhang: Founder of Pick Up Stix and Philanthropist (Business)
The Orange County Hall of Fame will be displayed at the lobby of the County Administration North located at 400 W. Civic Center Drive, Santa Ana, CA 92701.
