Chairman Don Wagner Statement on Tragic Loss of Historic Tustin North Hanger in Fire
(Santa Ana, CA) – Don Wagner, Chairman of the Orange County Board of Supervisors, has released the following statement on the fire that occurred in the early morning hours at the historic Tustin North Hangar.
Early today, firefighters responded quickly to the fire destroying the iconic Tustin North Hangar, a symbol of our community's rich military history.
The loss of this historic building, especially during the week of Veterans Day, is undeniably sad, but I am grateful that no one has been injured during the incident. The prompt action by Orange County Fire Authority firefighters and supporting agencies prevented the spread of this devastating fire to the surrounding neighborhood. Their unwavering commitment to public safety is a testament to their professionalism and dedication.
I am grateful for the outstanding work of the first responders who ensured that this unfortunate incident did not result in harm to our residents, and to the generations of veterans who worked in that hanger to keep America safe.
